What is Biomass
Biomass is biological material derived from living, or recently living organisms. In the context of biomass for energy this is often used to mean plant based material, but biomass can equally apply to both animal and vegetable derived material.
Generally speaking, Biomass refers to wood based fuels or gas produced through Anaerobic Digestion (AD).

The Support Scheme for Renewable Heat (SSRH) has been announced and has come into effect in relation to heat pump technology. The SSRH supporting biomass boilers and renewable gas is expected to start accepting applications for support in the near future. The Support Scheme for Renewable Heat (SSRH) (biomass/renewable gas boilers) will operate on a operational support basis meaning the more energy you consume the more of a support you receive, unlike other similar schemes, there are terms and conditions to limit the over exploitation of the scheme.
SEAI are currently in the process of developing the detail of the scheme.
TZC with our technical partners, OMNI Heat & Power, have developed a turnkey solution for the implementation of renewable technology in your organisation complete with a funding package to minimise the capex requirement for deploying renewable technology.
