The Shannon Vale Foods GreenStart Project is supported by Enterprise Ireland.

The objective of the Shannon Vale Foods GreenStart Programme was two fold:

  • Develop Energy management structure and KPI’s
  • Develop a carbon neutral roadmap.

TZC development energy reporting metrics and performance indicators which empowered management to effectively manage their energy consumption through the PDCA framework.

Steps to Reduce Emission

In order to reduce emissions, TZC designed a biomass fueled pre-heating system which supplies heat to the manufacturing process. This
approach is compliant with the SEAI Support Scheme for Renewable Heat (SSRH).

The installation of the proposed Biomass Boiler is expected to receive an annual operational support of €28,305 for up to 15 years.

The upgrade includes Heat Pump technology, reducing scope 1 emissions further.
