BASF Ireland’s Cork facility manufactures specialty chemicals for the mining industry. As a large energy user, the Little Island facility is an EU ETS permit holder. Compliance with the scheme requires annual reporting of the onsite emissions.
The BureauScope system provides management with the necessary information to effectively manage their energy consumption on a day-today basis. Standard consumption reports are generated for the communication of performance internally.
The BureauScope system captures all onsite resource consumption including electricity, fuel, water and steam use.
Data captured by the M&T system is used on an annual basis to quantify and validate the data submitted to the Environmental Protection Agency through the EU ETS reporting obligations.
Capturing data through the BureauScope system ensures no data gaps or double counting occurs as the system is designed in accordance with the calculation methodology described in the EU ETS permit.
